Children’s Wisconsin is a five-time Magnet® designated health care organization, accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet status is the highest level recognition of nursing excellence that a hospital and health system can achieve.

In 2004, Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee was one of the first pediatric hospitals to achieve Magnet status with first designation. Children’s fifth consecutive Magnet designation validates nursing and interprofessional excellence in all practice settings throughout the Children’s system: the Milwaukee and Fox Valley hospitals, the Surgicenter, ambulatory specialty clinics, primary care, community and school-based nursing.

Magnet organizations demonstrate exceptional outcomes for patients and sustain a culture where nurses and health care professionals are highly engaged.
