Asthma Treatments

• Asthma management plan: This plan details daily medicines, signs of early symptoms and steps to take if symptoms get worse. The plan lays out the steps in three zones: green for no symptoms, yellow for early symptoms and red for serious symptoms. It’s important to share this plan with your child’s school or daycare.
• Methacholine laryngoscopy: This is a test that experts use to diagnose asthma. It measures how much the airways narrow during asthma attacks and how much medicine a child may need to treat it.
• Allergy shots: These help reduce allergic asthma symptoms triggered by pollen, dust or other allergens.
• Oral and inhaled medicines: These include medicines to control, prevent and relieve asthma attacks. Some require an asthma medicine device.
• Asthma Plus Program: This program is for kids with serious, hard-to-control asthma. It offers complete care, education, goal setting and a tailored action plan.

Allergy Treatments

• Food Allergy Resources, Management, and Support (FARMS) Clinic: This clinic provides complete support for families managing food allergies. It helps with safe eating, school plans, anxiety and more.
• Food and medicine challenge tests: Experts conduct this testing under strict control. It helps detect or assess allergies and informs treatment options.
• Oral immunotherapy: This FDA-approved treatment for peanut allergies is for ages 4 to 17. It helps build resistance and reduces the risk of severe reactions.
• Allergy shots: These help reduce sensitivity to environmental or insect allergens over time.
• Clinical Nutrition: This program supports kids with food allergies. It helps them maintain healthy, balanced diets that promote growth and development.

Immune Condition Treatments

• Primary Immunodeficiency Program: This program diagnoses and manages immune disorders present at birth. Our experts provide a full range of treatment options and conduct research to enhance care.
• Sinus Clinic: If your child has frequent sinus infections, we may refer them to our ear, nose and throat experts.

Along with treatment, we provide services that support your child's well-being. We also help your family manage the daily needs of the condition.

• Coordinated care: We work with your child’s primary care doctor to manage complex needs. We also help ensure the best long-term treatment results.
• Education and support: We explain your child’s condition, help find triggers and guide you on the proper use of medicines.
• Health management: We provide written care plans that outline what to do daily and during flare-ups. These plans guide both families and schools and are common in asthma and allergy care.
• Home review: We assess your home for allergy or asthma triggers. We’ll let you know what changes can make your space healthier for your child.

Before
Before your child’s visit:

• We may ask you to fill out health forms.
• Bring a list of symptoms, medicines and any past results.
• Note any recent asthma attacks, triggers or illnesses.
• Bring inhalers or other medicines that your child uses.

During the visit:
When we meet with you and your child:

• Your child may see several experts, including doctors, dietitians or other specialists.
• They may do breathing, skin or blood tests.
• You’ll receive a written treatment or action plan.

After
After the visit:

• You’ll get a summary of the visit, including test results and next steps.
• Follow your child’s care plan and take medicines as directed.
• Watch for symptoms, avoid known triggers and keep a record of any changes.
• We may schedule follow-up visits to check progress and adjust the plan if needed.
