Children's Wisconsin offers surgical skin procedures for infants, children and adolescents. We emphasize patient comfort and reducing anxiety during procedures. Following an initial consultation, procedures are scheduled with local anesthesia in the clinic or full anesthesia administered by a pediatric anesthesiologist in the operating room. Surgeries are not performed on the day of your consultation visit.
Surgery can be used to treat:
- Moles
- Cysts
- Birthmarks
- Other skin tumors and growths
Some skin lesions require referral to another specialist for surgery. If needed, the referral can be made at your consultation appointment with your pediatric dermatologist.
