Brain Recovery Assessment and Interdisciplinary Needs
The BRAIN Clinic at Children's Wisconsin is an interdisciplinary brain injury follow-up program. It is designed to provide outpatient care for infants, children and adolescents who sustained a brain injury or infection and were previously a patient at Children's Wisconsin. After a brain injury, children often experience physical, cognitive, communication, emotional and behavioral challenges. Our team is here to help provide state-of-the-art, family-centered care to support their recovery.
Conditions treated through the BRAIN Clinic include:
- Anoxic brain injury
- Encephalitis (and other severe CNS infections)
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
- Refractory status epilepticus

- Speech and swallowing assessment
- Seizures and other neurologic diagnosis
- Neuropsychological assessments
- Return to school assessment
