About
Dr. Butz has worked in outpatient anesthesia for over 10 years and has been board certified since 1999. He takes pride in getting my patients back to their pre-operative status as quickly as possible. As Medical Director, he has launched many quality studies to improve outcomes and keep efficiency. He especially enjoys our relatively new practice of offering nerve blocks for patients having ACL repairs. These patients go home with a pump to keep their knees numb and are able to be managed over the phone in the days following to be sure they continue to do well. Dr. Butz’s is very active in the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia and give lectures nationwide on ambulatory anesthesia topics. This helps him give his knowledge to others and keeps me in the forefront of current ambulatory practices.

Ratings & Reviews
Why doesn't this provider have ratings?
At Children's, you can expect the very best care and service from all our providers — but not all will have ratings or reviews displayed online, for a few possible reasons.
The provider may:
- Not have received the minimum number of reviews (to ensure accuracy, we require a minimum of 30 patient surveys before we develop each provider's rating)
- Care for patients only as part of a team
- Not see Children's Wisconsin patients
