When you are pregnant, your body goes through many changes. These changes can make you feel new or different things, and it’s normal to have questions or worries. The team at the Fetal Concerns Center is here to support you. You can call (414) 337-4776 and ask to speak with a nurse.

Go to the Froedtert Emergency Department right away if you have heavy bleeding like a period.

Call the Fetal Concerns Center if You Have:

  • Cramping with bleeding.
  • Cramping after the first trimester.
  • Severe abdominal pain.
  • Vomiting and not able to keep liquids down for 24 hours.
  • A temperature higher than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge (change in color, smell or itching).
  • A sudden gush of watery fluid from your vagina.
  • Your baby is moving fewer than l0 times in two hours after 28 weeks,
  • Contractions that are 5 minutes apart, lasting about a minute each, and continue for at least one hour.

It Is Important To Avoid Certain Substances During Pregnancy.

These can be harmful to you and your baby. Do not use:

  • Alcohol (beer, wine, or liquor)
  • Marijuana
  • Street drugs
  • Cigarettes or vaping products

What Over-The-Counter Medicines Can You Take While Pregnant?

Some over the counter medicines are considered safe to use during pregnancy, but it’s important to follow the directions on the medicine label. Generic versions are okay. For the problems below, your provider can help you choose an over the counter medicine that is safe for you during pregnancy. If you’re unsure about medicine, call your healthcare provider for guidance.
