Why does my child need Tubigrip?

Tubigrip puts pressure on a healing burn wound. It helps keep scar tissue less likely to worsen. It may be used while you are waiting for your child’s compression garment.

Special instructions for use of Tubigrip

Your child needs to wear the Tubigrip at all times except when taking a bath or having lotion put on.
Your child needs two sets of Tubigrip, so there is always a set to wear when the other one is being washed. The Tubigrip must be changed and washed every day.
When Tubigrip gets stretched out and loses its shape, it needs to be replaced.
Tubigrip may be worn over Mepilex, Mepiform or Adaptic™ burn dressings. Do not use Pronet™ or Kerlix™ under the Tubigrip.
Tubigrip may be put over the healing burn wound after the moisturizing lotion is put on.

Washing Tubigrip

Hand wash Tubigrip in the sink using warm water and mild soap.
Rinse well with warm water only.
Dry Tubigrip by first rolling it in a towel to remove extra water. Do not wring (twist) the
Tubigrip. Let Tubigrip air dry. Tubigrip must be completely dry before putting it on your child.
