From darkness to light: Carson's story of strength and survival

Children's Wisconsin Apr 30, 2021

At 3:03 a.m. on the morning of March 4, 2017, 14-year-old Carson Molle went out to his family’s garage and did something unthinkable, something irreversible, something sadly all too common.

When he awoke several hours later at Children’s Wisconsin — confused, scared and surrounded by his loving family — something inside of him had changed. From unimaginable darkness came a renewed light.

This is Carson’s story.

But he’s not alone. Wisconsin's kids are facing a mental and behavioral health crisis. One in five children in Wisconsin is living with a serious mental illness and our youth suicide rate is significantly higher than most of the United States. We must act now. To learn more about what Children’s Wisconsin is doing to help our kids, please visit our Mental and Behavioral Health website

The Children's Wisconsin Craig Yabuki Mental Health Center can help you carry the weight of your child’s mental and behavioral health struggles. There is nothing too big or too small.
