Volunteer respite program

Our volunteer respite program strengthens families with children who have special needs by giving the parents or caregivers a much-needed break on a regular basis. Volunteers help care for children during large respite events.

Respite events include a full day of fun activities. One or two volunteers are matched with a child to provide one-on-one quality care. Nursing staff are on-hand for all toileting and medical needs.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteer groups are always welcome. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

If you have a child with special needs or would like to volunteer, call Children's Wisconsin Community Services at (414) 453-1400 for more information. Volunteer respite events are held at various locations around the Milwaukee area.
