Community partners

Children’s Wisconsin collaborates with many community partners who are experts in injury prevention and safety initiatives to help keep kids and families safe and injury free. 

 
Safe Kids Wisconsin

Safe Kids Wisconsin, part of Safe Kids Worldwide, is one of more than 400 grassroots coalitions in the United States that helps families and communities keep kids safe from injuries. We provide prevention information on safety issues like ways to help prevent traffic and pedestrian injuries, drownings, falls, burns, poisonings and more. Safe Kids Wisconsin supports 10 coalitions throughout the state that provide safety education, support and programming. Safe Kids Wisconsin is led by Children’s Wisconsin.

Safe kids Wisconsin

The Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin coalition serves Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties. The coalition is a group of many local organizations working together to prevent childhood injury. Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin focuses on motor vehicle safety (child passenger and teen driving), bicycle and pedestrian safety and home safety (fire prevention). Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin is led by Children’s Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation

The Wisconsin Child Passenger Safety Program is led by Children’s Wisconsin and Safe Kids Wisconsin through a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. This includes information and resources for parents and caregivers on teen driving, car seat checks and installation sites throughout the state, child passenger safety topics, parent and caregiver resources. It also includes comprehensive courses and curriculums to become a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) and CPST tools and support.

The Wisconsin Teen Driving Program is led by Children’s Wisconsin through a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The program includes information and resources for parents/caregivers and teen drivers on graduated driver licensing laws, distracted driving, seat belts, passengers, impaired driving and nighttime driving.
