Why Choose the Fetal Concerns Center
What To Expect
- We have specialty programs to address every fetal concern.
- You will be seen by specialists from Children’s Wisconsin and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin.
- Our care also extends beyond unborn babies and we care for pregnant mothers who have adult congenital heart disease.
- When you deliver at the Froedtert Birth Center, our expert care continues after the birth of your baby at the same location.
- Our nurse care coordinators will work to coordinate your care and act as your advocate throughout your pregnancy.
Access to the Best Care for Your Unborn Baby
Neonatal Intensive Care: The Children's Wisconsin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level IV NICU, which offers the highest level of care for newborns. We have the largest NICU in the state of Wisconsin and are co-located with the Froedtert Birth Center in Milwaukee. This eliminates the need for an ambulance ride and keeps mom and baby together after delivery.
Level 1 Pediatric Surgery Center: If your baby needs surgery after birth, the Children’s Wisconsin Surgery Center has the highest level of surgical care. Our Level 1 center is the only one in the state of Wisconsin and has performed hundreds of surgeries for newborns.
Commitment to ongoing research: Many of the specialists on the Fetal Concerns Center team have published research specific to fetal care and/or fetal surgery. We are a member of the North American Fetal Therapy Network, which is a national research group. Our physicians are currently leading a research study on gastroschisis called The GOOD Study.
Partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin: The Medical College of Wisconsin has world-renowned pediatric specialists and researchers who provide the best care possible for families.
