Overview
Services
Hi, I’m Dr. Pulido (she/her pronouns). I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist, which means I am a medical doctor who has gone through the typical medical training for mental health specialization, called "adult psychiatry residency", and then went on to complete sub-specialty training, called "Fellowship", to treat children. I approach the kids I treat with curiosity and compassion, thinking with both the medical perspective as a doctor and also the psychological perspective, as someone trained in psychodynamic and CBT therapy. While I don't typically do psychotherapy (also called talk therapy) with my clinic patients, I do keep that perspective with me when I work on figuring out what medications could be helpful for the kid in front of me. I make sure to teach as much as I can to kids and their families, so that they can understand exactly what it is we're treating and why we’re treating it, as a team. I have particular interests in children who have experienced trauma and, as I am bilingual in Spanish, I’m interested in Hispanic/Latino community mental health. I feel comfortable assessing and treating a wide range of psychiatric (mental health) issues and if I run into something I'm less experienced with, I know who to turn to and where to look for more help. I work as a consult-liaison psychiatrist (a psychiatrist who consults on children in the hospital) at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee most of the time, but I also see a few patients in the Children's Wisconsin psychiatry clinic.
