Volunteer in the community

Children's Wisconsin is dedicated to healthy families

At Children's Wisconsin, we're committed to making Wisconsin's kids, and all of the kids we serve, the healthiest in the nation. To achieve this vision, we need your support in the communities we serve. One way to make an immediate impact is by volunteering with our Robyn’s Nest

Grief Haven

Children’s Wisconsin’s Grief Haven provides free grief support groups to children and adults who have experienced a significant loss. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and welcoming place to share one’s experience with others who also know grief’s impact.  Participants will learn life-long strategies to better manage one’s grief through the use of activities, creative processing, and discussions.

Grief Haven volunteers must be:

  • Eager to work with kids aged 5-18 years of age
  • Compassionate, caring, and have active listening skills
  • Independent and able to take initiative
  • Professionally sensitive to the child/teen’s grief
