Our team works closely with parents, families, and schools to better understand the impact of children's developmental and behavioral challenges on the family and daily life. We work with families to advocate for their children by partnering with schools and other therapy providers involved in the child's care.

Autism team

The autism team is comprised of multiple specialized service providers who can assist the family in a number of different ways. From completing an autism diagnostic evaluation, to caring and supporting the family through the ‘autism journey’ and during major childhood transitions, to helping the child and their caregivers advocate for services and resources to support future growth and development, the autism team is here to serve families. Team members include developmental-behavioral pediatricians, pediatric psychologists, advance practice providers, clinical nurse specialists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dieticians, and if desired, research personnel.

Our intake process

The Center for Child Development uses an intake process to find out about your child and the concerns you would like to address. The intake process involves calling the Mental & Behavioral Health intake line at (414) 266-3339. All parents are mailed a consent for release of information. The consent for release of information allows the Center for Child Development to get copies of IEPs from your child’s school and other relevant evaluations, such as outside neuropsychological or speech evaluations. This information helps us to best meet the needs of your child and family.

Waitlist information

Once the intake process is complete and your child’s information has been reviewed the child will be added to our waitlist if appropriate. The waitlist can be up to a year wait. Information sessions will be offered twice a month for families to gain additional knowledge on what they can do while they wait to be seen in our clinic. These sessions will be offered via zoom.
