Patient's stories

We're proud to provide Wisconsin's best care for kids! Some examples of that care are below:

Vincent's story

When Vincent was 6 years old, his heart began to fail. While he waited for a heart transplant, specialists in our Herma Heart Institute used a Berlin Heart — an innovative treatment that provided him enough time to finally receive the "perfect" heart that saved his life. Now 17 years old, Vincent is living life to the fullest.

Reyna's story

Reyna was 10 years old when she was first diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a cancer that occurs primarily in the bone or soft tissue. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation, and was cancer free until several months later when another tumor was discovered – this time in her brain. Thanks to innovative treatment options, including the Solid Tumor Immunotherapy clinical trial, two years have passed and she is in remission and as spunky as ever!
