About transport

The Children's Wisconsin Critical Care Transport Team is devoted to taking care of critically ill neonates, children and adolescents 365/24/7. The transport team is the only neonatal and pediatrics focused inter-facility team in the region, providing medical transport by air or ground.

Children's Transport Team has been transporting for more than 30 years and performs more than 1,000 transports a year.

Our team is compromised of registered nurses and respiratory care practitioners, who are experienced in neonatal and pediatric intensive care, emergency, transport medicine, and trauma. When needed, either a PICU/NICU fellow or Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP)/Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (AC-PNP) accompany the team to provide the best care possible for our patients. The team is supported by and in constant close communication with board-certified physicians in specialties such as neonatology, pediatric critical care, emergency medicine, and trauma. Children's is brought right to the bedside once the team arrives at any facility.
