Local news interview Children’s Wisconsin team members who reflect on caring for kids injured at Waukesha parade


After coverage from national and local media focused on the initial response to the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy, a group of Children’s Wisconsin team members met with local television and radio station. The individuals reflected on the preparation and response by their teams, as well as what the experienced on a more individual level. 

Emergency plans were in place and executed with precision. Children’s Wisconsin staff attending the parade and hearing about the aftermath came into the hospital to help with the surge of patients. The emotional side of being ready for a tragedy like this underscores another way Children’s Wisconsin uniquely serves the community as the state’s largest Level 1 pediatric trauma center and largest pediatric intensive care unit.
