Prom 2025
Howdy Y’all! Come Join Us! Friday June 6th 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This event will take place for teens (ages 12 and older) who are both inpatients and outpatients of the hospital. The night will consist of dinner, dancing, and fun activities!

There are release forms that all attendees must complete online prior to the event or printed and brought in-person. Patients may bring a date/guest who are 12+.
Dress Code
Please feel free to dress as formal or informal as you’d like! Our theme is country western. In the past ours guests have worn things such as: dresses, skirts, suits, or collared shirts and nice pants. Come as you are!! Hair and makeup services will also be available upon request for both patients and guests. Please indicate your interest in these services when you RSVP for the event.
Prom Information
Prom will take place in our Main Lobby/Café West area. Please note, the main lobby entrance is closed at this time, please enter through the Yabuki Tower Entrance. A parent event will be held in our Family Resource Center during the prom with food provided.
Frequently asked questions
Who can attend the prom?
Any Children's Wisconsin patient who is 14 years or older and has received inpatient or outpatient care within the last year is invited to attend the Children's Wisconsin prom. If the patient is an inpatient at the time of the event, he or she will need a consent form from his or her doctor.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Inpatients will be brought directly to the Teen Lounge for preparation. Outpatients can report to the registration area in the main lobby of the hospital.
May I bring a date?
Absolutely! Each patient may bring one date. Dates must bring a consent form signed by a parent or guardian.
Are there special requirements?
If patient is being picked up at the end of the event, a licensed driver's name and phone number must be presented at check in. The driver's license must be presented when the patient is picked up.
Can parents attend?
Parents are not required to stay at prom. Should parents decide to stay, they are strongly encouraged to attend an informal parent event held in the Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center. Food and activities will be provided.
What if I don't have anything to wear?
No problem! We have a selection of dresses, shirts and ties for you to choose from. Please let us know when you RSVP if you need something to wear to the prom.
What if I don't have anyone to do my hair or make up?
We have an awesome group of hair stylists and make up artists volunteering their time to make you look beautiful for this special night. Please let us know when you RSVP if you need hair or makeup assistance.
Will medical personnel staff the event?
Yes, medical staff will be present if any medical needs arise.
Will food and drinks be served?
Of course! Please let us know about any food allergies you or your date may have. Do not bring outside food or beverages into the building. All drink containers will be taken away upon entry into the hospital. If an individual arrives to the prom and appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance, he or she will NOT be allowed to participate and will be asked to leave.
