Dr. J. Channing Tassone joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2002 here at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He obtained his bachelor degree in Religion/Ethics from Duke University and then continued on to the University of Washington, School of Medicine where he obtained his doctor of medicine degree and graduated with honors.  He completed his Orthopaedic residency at the University of Wisconsin Madison and then went on to do a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas.

His clinical interests span the breadth of pediatric orthopaedic problems, and he has a particular interest in scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis, pediatric spine trauma and cerebral palsy.  His research on scoliosis, developmental dislocation of the hip and the athrogrypotic clubfoot have been presented at national meetings.

Dr. Tassone is active in numerous professional organizations such as Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), American Orthopaedic Association (AOA), Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Wisconsin Orthopaedic Society (WOS).

Dr. Tassone is amazing and patient with both of my girls. He entertains all of my worrisome questions and helps walk me off my ledge. I appreciate his thoroughness and willing to answer all questions. His confidence and knowledge put me at ease.

We had a phenomenal experience. Dr. Tassone and his provider were outstanding with my daughter who has severe anxiety. The ease of everything was excellent from quick X-rays to somebody scheduling with us in the patient room directly following the appointment. Great job Children's!!!

The appointment took much longer than what I was told when making the appointment. It was Monday and things seemed backed up but we did wait for a very long time between meeting with different members of the team. Had went known to plan for the extended time it would have been better than thinking someone forgot about us.

Communication as to why things were late. Sat in the room for 1/2 an hour before PA came in, then another 1/2 an hour until the doctor came in. Appointment was actually only about 10 minutes. No one explained what the delay was. Felt like we had been forgotten about.
