Becoming a parent is one of life's greatest accomplishments. As my wife and I are finding out with our four kids, there may be some challenges along the way. As your family's pediatrician, I look forward to helping you overcome any obstacles that may stand in the way of your child growing up to be healthy and happy. My goal is to focus on prevention and I strive for open communication. I welcome all questions and look forward to serving your family.

We have been going to Westbrook pediatrics since my 15 year old was born. We have loved everybody there we have seen. Dr Hatchell is very good at what he does!
We love Dr. Hatchell! He makes the appointments go very smoothly. He is very thorough and listens to my concerns.
Dr. Hatchell is the absolute best! He always takes the time to listen, truly cares about his patients, and makes every visit a positive experience. We couldn't ask for a better doctor for our kids!

We love Dr. Hatchell. He is very engaging with both girls and very thorough during the visit. Minus vaccinations, they look forward to seeing him and listen to what he has to say.
We couldn't be more happier to have Dr. Hatchell as a provider. He takes care of both of our children. We trust him with absolutely everything. He has answered all of our questions. He's hold us back on his days off. He actually took on my children when he wasn't accepting new patients. He's a godsend. My children trust him. I trust him. And he's probably the best PD person I've ever come across, and I've worked in health care for over a decade.
I feel that Dr Hatchell has exceeded my expectations, and both my daughter and I feel that he genuinely cares. The time he spends with us is the most valuable thing that Children's has ever given us, and I want to advocate for all doctors there to be given the time they need to properly care for each patient. Of all of the pediatricians at Children's, I feel Dr Hatchell is the best. Please tell him thank you for all that he does.

We really appreciated being seen for a day-of appointment by Dr. Hatchell, who isn't our daughter's typical provider, when some concerning symptoms arose. He was very thorough and kind, and his MA Amy was extremely friendly and encouraging for our 2 year old who thus far has been very fearful of physician's appointments. No tears this time!
Nurse Amy was spectacular once again. Provinding child friendly care and putting my child at ease. She is personable, prepares the child and is easy to talk with. Impressed that she stopped in the room to provide an update that the provider was behind schedule and asked if we needed water or anything while we waited. She went above and beyond! Dr Hatchell was amazing as always. Despite being behind schedule never once made us feel rushed. He started by explaining the reason for needing an inperson visit and after the physical exam, he explained all the options for care and shared the pros and cons. Together we navigated a treatment plan we were both comfortable with. He went above and beyond to explain what to do if the treatment plan wasn't working or got worse. I was put at ease to go out of town and assured if a different care plan was needed we could navigate that through MyChart. I am grateful and apprective for the time, knowledge and personal connection of the nurse and provider. The care we received was by far worth the wait. Thank you!

Dr. Hatchell is amazing!!! He took the time to listen to and answer my questions. He spent time talking to my son at an age appropriate level and answered all of his questions. He spent time reviewing stretches to help with sports flexibility and injury prevention. He really cares about my son and his well being. We love Dr. Hatchell!!

Dr Hatchell is a wonderful doctor.
Very impressed with how Dr. Ryan got my girls talking. They are normally shy when we go to the doctors office and don't always answer questions and want me to answer for them. Dr. Ryan joked around and was silly with the girls and they loved him. I also appreciated how he offered to Watch them while we were waiting for our strep results so I could go to the bathroom and not have to take all three of my children with me. He took them in the hallway and played soccer with them while I used the bathroom! Nobody has ever gone above and beyond like that for us before. It meant a lot to a tired Mom. He was very personable, thorough and professional. He's not our usual Ped but I would take my kiddos to see him again if needed!
Only problem is the wait time before seeing the doctor after being put in room. Second time we had to wait more than 30 min after our appt time to see the doctor.
Dr. Hatchel and Amy are always extremely patient with my very scared toddler. They are helping him get over his fear of doctors.
Dr Hatchell is a wonderful doctor. We have been going to him for 10 years. I trust him and he treats my kids so well. He listens and has complete empathy.

I cannot more highly recommend Dr. Hatchell. Our son has seen him since birth, and he has helped us every step of the way. Our son was born early and struggled at first with low weight and feeding issues. He also had early hearing issues requiring ear tubes and eventual speech therapy, as well as vision issues requiring glasses before age 2. All of these things were addressed timely, and our son is now two and a half, doing great and thriving. Dr. Hatchell encouraging us to seek specialists when appropriate and provided guidance in navigating those next steps, but he also helped keep things in perspective so that we did not worry more than necessary. His approach was thoughtful and measured. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful pedestrian who we can trust to take good care of us.
Quality of care was excellent as always. When will doctors stop wearing masks? This makes the visit very impersonal for my child.
Dr. Hatchell got us in last minute. He knew we had some concerns. He is very realistic, easy to talk to, and comes up with a solution that is comfortable for everybody, not overly aggressive, not underwhelming, but just listens to us and takes the right steps to make sure that he gets better. We love Dr. Hatchell.

I have a 16-year-old and a 12-year-old. They both get care at Westbrook Pediatrics. Dr. Hatchell is absolutely fantastic. I would say if Children's is looking for improvement in an area, it would be in their phone and their surveys and their reminders and their music when you're on hold. That is the most irritating of all. Great care, excellent pediatrician. Children's overall is a little frustrating. Thanks. Bye.
Dr.Hatchell never makes me feel rushed when I attend my child's appointments. He answers every question I have and explains everything so throughly. All the staff that work with him are kind and patient!

Dr H was excellent! He was so patient and kind. He spend extra time to make our anxious and sick toddler comfortable. He did what it took to clear the wax out the of the way to be sure he could get a good view of our daughters ear.
