Services

I am board certified in Pediatrics and a subspecialized Pediatric Gastroenterologist. I have specific expertise and interest in managing patients with disorders of gut-brain interaction and GI motility disorders such as cyclic vomiting syndrome, chronic nausea, irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia and gastroparesis. Part of our nationally recognized GI motility program at the Children's Wisconsin Pediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility Program, I evaluate complex patients from across the country and internationally. I am trained to perform motility testing including esophageal, antroduodenal, colon and anorectal manometry. My research is focused on developing better diagnostic tools and therapies for complex disorders such as chronic nausea and gastroparesis. My primary goal is to help children and families who suffer from chronic and debilitating GI disorders achieve the best possible care and quality of life.

My visit for my daughter was great. Very informative, knowledgeable physician. My only negative is that it's just unfortunate she doesn't see patients more often. But we are setting up, we have set up an appointment with her assistant, Julie, and look forward to getting to know her throughout our journey with our daughter, with (INAUDIBLE). Thank you.

We were very happy with our visit with Dr Karrento. She had looked over our daughter's history prior to the appointment, so she was aware of all medications and procedures that our daughter already had done. As we are still trying to find the root cause of our daughter's condition, she listened and took into consideration all aspects of her history and a family member's history of similar medical issues. We appreciate the fact that she is being very conscience of not over-treating our daughter with medications/procedures that may not be needed at this time and started with more non-invasive procedures to collect more information. We also appreciated that due to the complexity of our daughter's case and the fact that we have meet with a few doctors prior that Dr Karrento was willing to keep our daughter on as a follow-up patient for now as we try to find the cause of our daughter's GI issues. She seemed to genuinely care and want to help us find the cause so we can treat out daughter the best way available.
