Overview

Services

I am dedicated to the care of children and their ear, nose and throat needs. I am committed to the care of children with complex medical needs, and treat each child with the individualized care that he or she deserves.

I am a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon with accredited fellowship training and subspecialty certification in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology. My clinical interests include complex airway management, airway reconstruction, sinonasal disorders, congenital head and neck masses, parotid masses, and thyroid/parathyroid disease.

As a mentor to medical students, residents, and fellows, I have strong interests in medical education and training future generations of physicians. Along with my clinical interests, I spend a large part of my time furthering the frontier of academic otolaryngology. For my research in pediatric otolaryngology and healthcare disparities, I have received the Shirley Baron Research Award from the Triological Society, and am a two-time recipient of the Charles Ferguson Research Award from the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.

The quickness of the procedure and getting us into the office to begin with was amazing. I was told I would have to go to Milwaukee initially. Being able to stay local was an unexpected, but very convenient and accomodating surprise.

Love going to children's.

Being new to the ENT and the building, it would have been great to have signs to tell me where to go. The front informational desk representative was very helpful and directed me the right way. My service from start to finish was excellent, but that would be the only feedback I have was to have directional cues of where you need to go depending on the service you were receiving.

Dr. Shay was amazing. She took the time to listen to my daughter regarding all her tonsils issues. She also explained everything in great detail. She is a wonderful doctor and so happy she will be performing my daughters surgery. She made me feel very comfortable with our decision.

Overall, the level of expertise and care was appreciated. I think that the doctor did spend time answering my questions. However, at the end, it would have been nice to maybe have a little bit more time to ask a few more questions or possibly to have her come back and say, is there anything else? I thought of a few things after the appointment that were pretty basic that I forgot in the moment that are probably not a concern but would still be nice to know. So anyway, thank you. Bye. Bye.
