EZ On modified vest (1856)
Key points below
Refer to the vest manual for step-by-step instructions. Refer to the car’s owner’s manual for seat belt instructions.
What is an EZ-On Vest?
The EZ-On vest is a safe alternative to a car seat or booster seat for children in braces, hip spica casts, body casts or any other configuration that requires a child to be transported lying down.
The EZ-On vest has been crash tested and meets the federal motor vehicle safety standards.
The use of car seats, booster seats and seat belts is the law in Wisconsin. Since your child cannot use a car seat at this time, the vest will help keep your child safe.
How do I use an EZ-On Vest?
- Your child needs to be laid lengthwise on a rear vehicle bench seat. Bucket seats will not work. Your child’s head should be as far away from the door as possible.
- Put pillows behind your child’s head and neck and between your child’s head and the door. The modified EZ-On vest needs 2 or 3 seat belts depending on the size of the child.
- The seat belts should be secured as tightly as possible.
