How do I use the hip/femur surgery car seat?
This teaching sheet does not take place of the car seat manual. See the car seat manual for step-by-step instructions for the seat. Refer to the car’s owner’s manual for seat belt instructions.
- The hip/femur surgery seat can be used both rear-facing and forward facing.
- The sides of the seat are lower to fit legs that are casted or in a brace.
- The hip/femur surgery seat comes with a wedge for positioning. The wedges help the harness straps fit snug to a child’s body.
- The car seat educator will teach you how to use the wedge if your child needs to have one.
How can I learn more?
Each car seat should have two QR codes that will take you to a short video about how to put the child in the seat and the seat into the car. Point your phone’s camera at the correct code and it will send you to the video to watch. The car seat educator will show you which video to watch.
