Children’s acetaminophen dosing

Give acetaminophen (Tylenol®) every 4-6 hours as needed for fever or pain.

Do not give more than 5 times in a 24-hour period. Do not give with any other medicine containing acetaminophen.

Children’s ibuprofen dosing

Give ibuprofen (Motrin® or Advil®) every 6 hours as needed for fever or pain.

Do not give more than 4 times in a 24-hour period. Do not give with any other medicine containing ibuprofen. Do not give to infants less than 6 months old unless told by child’s doctor.
