At Children's Wisconsin, we're committed to making Wisconsin's kids, and all of the kids we serve, the healthiest in the nation. To achieve this vision, we need your support in the communities we serve. One way to make an immediate impact is by becoming a respite care volunteer.

Milwaukee Child Advocacy Center

The Milwaukee Child Advocacy Center provides assessments to children who may have been harmed. The goal of the center is to protect children from abuse and provide resources to help them heal. This center is located near the Marquette University campus.

Child Advocacy Center volunteers must be:

  • In the community
  • Comfortable supervising children of all - birth to age 18
  • Independent and able to take initiative
  • Actively engaged with patients in waiting area
  • Willing to perform office tasks with little direction

Kyle’s Korner of Children’s Wisconsin

Kyle’s Korner of Children’s Wisconsin provides free grief support groups to children and adults who have experienced a significant loss.  The goal of the center is to provide a safe and welcoming place to share one’s experience with others who also know grief’s impact.  Participants will learn life-long strategies to better manage one’s grief through the use of activities, creative processing, and discussions. The center is located near the Children’s Wisconsin campus, 7106 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa.

Kyle’s Korner of Children’s Wisconsin volunteers must be:

  • Eager to work with kids aged 5-18 years of age
  • Compassionate, caring, and have active listening skills
  • Independent and able to take initiative
  • Professionally sensitive to the child/teen’s grief
