Vascular malformations usually are visible at birth, are permanent and do not grow on their own but only as the child grows. The Birthmarks and Vascular Anomalies Center provides patients with a unique collaboration between physicians representing medical, surgical, and research disciplines.
What to expect:
- Each patient is evaluated and treated, as appropriate, by an interdisciplinary team of specialists including dermatology, oncology, interventional radiology, pathology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery adolescent medicine, and gastroenterology.
- The specialists discuss all treatment options, weighing the risks and benefits of each as a collaborative group to provide coordinated care for complicated vascular anomalies.
- Streamlined patient care to prevent patient families from having to make numerous appointments to see each specialist separately.
To refer a patient:
- External Provider using EPIC, please complete the external referral order to CHW Dermatology. In the comments section note ‘vascular anomaly’.
