Get to know Douglas Storm MD, Urology
Doug Storm, MD, is a pediatric urologist and medical director of Urology at Children's Wisconsin. He is also section chief and professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW).
Dr. Storm joins us from University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Stead Family Children’s Hospital, where he is currently professor of Urology and Pediatrics. He has served on the faculty at the Carver College of Medicine for 12 years.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he completed a General Surgery internship at National Navy Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, followed by a Urology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Pediatric Urology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Storm has authored numerous publications and book chapters and has extensive teaching experience. He earned his medical degree from Rush University in Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.
Dr. Storm’s philosophy of care is to care for each child that he sees as if it was his own. His goal is to provide education to all patients and their family members so that they understand their condition, allowing them to make the most educated treatment decision. He spends a great deal of time ensuring the patient and family clearly understands the illness and the treatment options. When possible, he identifies non-surgical solutions for the condition, but when surgery becomes necessary he offers the least invasive approach at the highest level of expertise.
