Metabolic Bone Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic including nephrology and endocrinology. We provide education, screening, diagnosis and treatment of complex and rare metabolic and genetic bone conditions including osteogenesis imperfecta, Rickets, X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), Hypophosphatasia, Fibrous dysplasia, skeletal dysplasia, secondary osteoporosis related to neurodevelopmental disorders or steroids.

Children’s Wisconsin offers Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptionmetry (DXA) scans for bone density assessment in pediatric patients which is crucial to diagnosis and treatment of childhood bone health disorders.

To refer a patient:

  • External Provider using EPIC, please complete the external referral order to CHW_NEPHROLOGY_CLINIC. In the comments section note ‘Metabolic Bone Clinic’
