Get to know Sameer Shakir, MD from Plastic Surgery

Sameer Shakir, MD joined Children’s Wisconsin in September 2022, as a pediatric plastic surgeon and also an assistant professor of Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He pursued his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Pittsburgh. He then completed his integrated plastic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by advanced fellowship training in pediatric and adult craniomaxillofacial surgery at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

He treats patients with craniofacial differences and general reconstructive needs from birth to adulthood. His clinical interests include longitudinal cleft care, craniosynostosis, orthognathic surgery and craniomaxillofacial trauma. Through his work, he focuses on improving the quality of life in children and developing meaningful patient and family relationships spanning from birth to adulthood.
