I am constantly amazed by the resilience that children with complex medical and neurological illnesses (and their families) demonstrate. I believe that it is essential to evaluate and identify a child’s cognitive profile of strengths and weaknesses in order to help support this resilience and assist each child in achieving their fullest potential. The earlier needs can be identified and the sooner interventions can be initiated, the more likely optimal outcomes can be achieved.
