Emergency room

Why we measure it - Research shows that doctors and hospitals that treat a large number of patients tend to have better results.

What this means - The chart shows our emergency room visits have been steady.

About the data - This is the number of visits to our emergency room.

How we provide the best care

  • Children's is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. This is the highest level of care for children with severe illnesses and injuries.
  • Trauma surgeons and medical specialists are in the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our patients have quick access to the doctors they need.
  • Nurses must complete six months of special training and have at least two years of nursing experience before they work in our emergency room.
  • We offer seven urgent care locations in Southeast Wisconsin region. Urgent care is for illnesses or injuries that you normally would get care for at your regular doctor's office. The emergency room is for more serious illnesses and injuries. When you use urgent care for less serious issues, this may get you care quicker or reduce your costs.
