Amani & Franklin Heights

Amani United is the merger of the Amani Community Advisory Group (ACAG), which began meeting in 2011 and other active neighborhood initiatives. Members of Amani United include equal representation of both residents and stakeholders and community leaders who care about the neighborhood. Working in close alignment and partnership with Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BCNP) activities, Amani United provides both leadership opportunities for residents as well as an opportunity to be a part of the positive changes in their neighborhood.

Through a discussion with both neighborhood residents and community stakeholders, the following areas are the current priorities for the Amani & Franklin Heights neighborhood:

  • Vacant lots, vacated properties
  • Public safety
  • Resident leadership development
  • Education
  • Health

Key partners

In each neighborhood, key partners play a significant role in facilitating and leading the process and engaging community members. The key partners for Amani & Franklin Heights neighborhood include COA Goldin Center and Dominican Center for Women, both are long-standing trusted community resources offering recreational and educational programs and services for children, teens and their families.
