Nutrition and physical activity
Children’s Wisconsin’s Nutrition and physical activity e-learning content provides fun and interactive lessons, activities and games for K-8th grade students.
Students will learn how to establish healthy habits and increase their physical activity. They also learn how to eat well, stay fit and how healthy habits help them feel good about their bodies.
Supplemental activities for classroom use are available to reinforce what is learned in online lessons, activities and games.

Learning activities by grade level
Kindergarten
“3-2-1-0 Blast Off!” song
“3-2-1-0 Blast Off!” is a fun, high energy song that talks about different things students can do to be healthy.
Food=fuel lesson
The Food=fuel lesson teaches students that healthy foods fuel their bodies throughout the day. Students will learn the importance of eating breakfast every day.
Go and whoa foods lesson
In this lesson students will learn the difference between go and whoa foods. They will practice putting different foods into go food or whoa food categories.
MyPlate lesson
In this lesson students will learn about MyPlate, about eating a variety of foods to have a healthy diet and the importance of being active every day.
Activity pyramid lesson
In this lesson students will be introduced to the activity pyramid, which is a tool that teaches the different types of physical activity.
Match the planets game
In this game students will click on planets to find matching images of sitting-still activities or physical activities.
Goal setting lesson
The Goal setting lesson teaches students what a goal is and which adults can help them with their goals.

MyPlate lesson
In this lesson students will hear examples of different foods that are in the MyPlate food groups.
Sugar lesson
In the Sugar lesson students will learn about what can be found on a nutrition facts label.
Bubble buster game
This interactive game encourages students to pop the bubbles that contain sugary drinks while avoiding bubbles that contain healthy drinks.
Restaurants lesson
In this lesson, students will learn how to make healthier choices at restaurants.
Activity pyramid lesson
In this lesson students about different types of physical activity by exploring the activity pyramid and how often they should do the different activity types.
Goal setting lesson
The Goal setting lesson teaches students what a goal is and that there are adults that can help them reach their goals.
Who wants to be healthy? game
In this game students are a contestant on a game show where they need to answer questions about nutrition and physical activity.

4th grade
"Energy Extreme" song
“Energy Extreme'' is a fun, high energy song that talks about the importance of a balanced diet and physical activity for a healthy body and mind.
3-2-1-0 lesson
In this lesson students will learn about the importance of eating three meals, having 2 hours or less of sedentary activity, getting 1 hour of physical activity and having zero sugary beverages each day.
Nutrition lesson
In this lesson students will learn about valid sources of nutrition information, such as choosemyplate.gov and nutrition facts labels.
Physical activity lesson
In this lesson students will learn about physical activity, including the different types of physical activity, and the benefits of each type.
Ian's story
In this activity students will follow Ian throughout his day and help him make choices about eating and sleeping.
Healthy minds lesson
In this lesson students will learn about healthy sleep habits, screen time guidelines, mindfulness and other habits that are important for healthy minds.
Run for your health game
In this game students choose a character and race to the finish against other characters and they will answer questions about nutrition, physical activity and healthy minds.

6th grade
“For Your Health” song
“For Your Health” is a fun, high energy song that talks about making healthy nutrition and physical activity choices each day.
3-2-1-0 lesson
In this lesson students will learn about the importance of having three meals, two hours or less of screen time, one hour of physical activity and zero sweetened beverages each day.
Nutrition lesson
In this lesson students will learn about MyPlate, go, slow, and whoa foods within each food group as well as valid sources of nutrition information.
Slingshopping game
In this game food will be loaded into a slingshot and students need to decide if that food is a go, slow or whoa food before slinging the food into the correct shopping cart.
Physical activity lesson
In this lesson students will learn about physical activity, including the different types and the benefits of being active.
Healthy minds lesson
In this lesson students will learn about different ways to keep their minds healthy, how stress can help or hurt people and they will explore the decision making process.
Goal setting lesson
In this lesson students will learn about SMART goals and how to be successful in achieving their health-related goals.
Strike it fit game
In this bowling game students will be asked questions about nutrition, physical activity, healthy minds and goal setting.

8th grade
3-2-1-0 lesson
In this lesson students will learn about the importance of eating 3 meals, having less than 2 hours of screen time, getting 1 hour of physical activity and having 0 sweetened beverages each day.
Nutrition lesson
In this lesson students will learn about food processing and how to make healthy choices from each food group.
Physical activity lesson
In this lesson students will learn about different types of physical activity and the benefits of each type.
Get 60 game
In this game minutes of physical activity tiles drop from the top of the screen and students will line up the tiles to add up to 60 minutes or more, either vertically or horizontally.
Healthy minds lesson
In this lesson students will learn about what makes a healthy mind and everyday habits that are good for the mind.
Goal setting lesson
In this lesson students will learn about SMART goals and how to be successful in accomplishing their health-related goals.
Make it to a million game
In this game students will be asked questions about nutrition, physical activity, healthy minds and goal setting. If they answer all 8 questions correctly, they earn a million points and win the game.
