Our Integrated Healing Program helps teens with chronic pain and related functional disorders. We offer this rehab program with Rogers Behavioral Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
This outpatient program is for stable patients between 13 and 18 years old. Our team treats teens’ physical, emotional and social needs.
The program helps kids manage many different conditions, such as:
- Migraines and chronic headaches
- Amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
- Functional abdominal pain
- Pain associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
- Functional neurologic disorders with pain symptoms
Treatments include:
- Physical therapy: These daily sessions focus on helping movement and strength. They also help teach your child ways to manage pain.
- Cognitive behavioral therapy: This teaches kids to change bad thoughts and behaviors about their pain. This helps improve coping skills and emotional health.
- Dialectical behavior therapy: This teaches kids how to handle stress. It helps them learn to manage emotions, improve relationships and stay focused in the moment.
- Behavioral activation: This pushes kids to do meaningful activities. It helps make their overall mood better and stops them from not doing things they like.
