Services

I am a fellowship-trained and board-certified pediatric dermatologist. My research and clinical interests are in morphea and other rheumatologic conditions such as lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis.  In addition to taking care of patients and performing cutting-edge research, I am passionate about training the next generation of doctors by teaching medical students and residents.

I strongly believe that the best care possible for each child comes from a strong partnership between families and the doctor. I practice shared decision making whenever possible, where I provide the medical expertise to empower each family to make the best decisions for their child’s health.

The time that the nurse and doctors came in and the time that we went upstairs, got checked in and were seen was amazing. We didn't even have a chance to sit down. He barely got undressed to get his checkup before they came in. It was awesome. It was the fastest, best appointment ever. I will recommend it and go back anytime. Thank you.

Dr Chiu is fantastic. Great listener, talks to my child vs just me, explains options and is very thorough, nurse was great too.

Everyone seemed very rushed and her medications were sent to the wrong pharmacy. We have been unable to get them so far.

The Doctor was friendly however she focused on the treatment rather than the cause when talking to us. The new hair loss pharmeceutical treatment she explained has side effects and even though she said rare there is a potential for cancer and long term use side effects unknown. My daughter almost was in tears and a little terrified of it and also her explanation of why she shouldnt take topical coritcosteroid. the doctor was kind enough to step out so she could regain composure. I suspected my daughter has a possible thyroid issue due to other symptoms and requested checking levels which she did order labs and results she does have high TSH. There was no discussion on treatment if it was a thyroid issue and I should of asked but didnt occur to me at the time. Also I requested corticosteroid since it worked last time but she started saying it would thin her skin on her head which contributed to daughters fear and emotion so i dont think know if she will use it But i cant try even because no topical corticoid steroid perscription was provided even though discussed. I thought she did but i dont have one or notification from pharmacy. I so wish the doctor could have delved into the cause more .such as thyroid and explain the treatments for that would have put my daughter at ease a little. The new pharmeceutical hair loss treatment pushed will not be an option ever because it is not a treatment for her thyroid. I am a tad frustrated.
