Sibling Care
To align with current visitor policy, siblings of hospitalized patients under the age of 12 may only utilize Sibling Care if granted an exception on the unit level. Please talk with your medical team to learn more about the exception process.
Sibling Care is a special place for brothers and sisters of patients. Siblings can participate in age-appropriate activities to help them better understand their brother or sisters’ health care needs.
Guidelines
- Brothers and sisters of the patient receiving care at Children's Wisconsin only
- Two years to 12 years
- No fever, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, cold or flu symptoms within the past 48 hours
- 90 minute maximum, two visits daily, at least one hour between visits
- Siblings of patients in isolation may not participate in Sibling Care
- Food or drink is not allowed in Sibling Care
- Information below must be complete and accurate
- Parent may not leave the facility for any reason while the child is in Sibling Care
- Parent/guardian dropping off must be the parent picking up the child(ren)
- Sibling Care staff reserve the right to refuse entry to any child due to room capacity, staff availability, disciplinary or illness related concerns
