My child was first seen by a provider in our hometown, but the experience was very different from what we expected. The appointments always felt rushed, and the communication was not clear. They did testing, but were unable to provide a diagnosis and eventually stopped care, saying there was nothing more they could do. It felt abrupt and left us at a loss. Our daughter was still experiencing issues, but we didn't know the cause or what steps to take next. Our pediatrician then referred us to Children's in Milwaukee, where we saw neurology. That experience was completely different. The appointment was thorough, I didn't feel rushed, and the provider took time to ask questions, listen, and explain things clearly. She continued to follow my daughter for a few years, checking in to make sure everything was on track and that she was progressing. At our most recent appointment this past summer, the provider explained that my daughter had reached a point where ongoing follow-up was no longer necessary, since she was doing well. I agreed, and now we only need to return if any new concerns arise. Overall, the care at Children's gave me confidence that someone was carefully monitoring my daughter's condition and ensuring she was progressing as she should. That reassurance made all the difference for us. The appointments were also more relaxed; I never felt rushed. It was a great experience and I'm happy we switched to them.
Staff Was Very Good At Helping Understand The Medical Situation My Child Needs
All of the staff from check in to when we were leaving were all very nice & very professional. It was a great experience overall.
We drove from Green Bay to Milwaukee for this appointment which we had to wait two months for. The test we were coming to get answers on was not requested and only was counseled on the clinical notes we also received two months ago. I feel as thought If the diagnostic testing results were actually delivered and reviewed by the neurologist we could have had maybe more answers. Also secondary to this we were told to get an MRI which was performed the day after this visit. Once we received those results we were pretty much told that the MRI was not good enough because the machine used was not the correct one. If our care team could have taken a better approach to getting us the correct care we needed we wouldn't have to have a re test In which will traumatize my child because the first MRI was already Incredibly traumatizing In such a short period of time. Overall the dr and nurses were great- just feel like we fell short In areas that could have been provided to us by the care team.
My experience was very good. I always feel like Dr. Fiala's team genuinely care and listen about my daughter. The are patient with her and kind. The team is very good at explaining everything in ways that a parent can understand. I will forever recommend her team to anyone.
