Physical Therapy for Patients With Type 2 Diabetes
The Diabetes team would like you to partner with the Physical Therapy team. Our goal is to help you feel safe when being active. You should have fun with whatever activity you choose.
Why Is Physical Activity So Important?
It is important because it helps:
- Manage blood sugars.
- Increase strength.
- Lower stress.
- Improve energy levels and sleep.
- Prevent long term health problems of diabetes.
During These Sessions, You Can:
- Create an exercise plan and goals that focus on your fitness level and interests.
- Work towards your goals at each session.
- Learn how to use fitness equipment safely.
What Else Do You Need To Know?
Physical Therapy sessions last about 45 to 60 minutes. The number of sessions will depend on you. They will most likely be covered by insurance. During the first visit, we will get to know you, your strengths, and goals.
