Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center

Patient and families can visit the Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center to take a break and recharge. Have a cup of coffee or tea; relax to soft music while enjoying a view of the Noel Family Healing Garden. The Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center is a place and space for the hurting, healing, and happy hearts. Parents, caregivers and youth can learn about hospital services, community resources, parent support and more.

Video games and movies

PlayStation3 games, Wii games, magazines and light reading books are available to patients and families. A list of DVDs, video games, and resource books is available at the Southeast Regional Center website.

Lending Library

The Lending Library offers families more than 2,000 books covering topics such as emotional support, coping with hospitalization, chronic illness, child development, parenting and more. In addition, we can connect families with the Medical College of Wisconsin librarian.

Southeast Regional Center

This program is staffed by both personal and professional expertise. They can recommend materials and resources to help families find answers regarding educational services, funding strategies, diagnosis-specific information, support groups, parent-to-parent matching, disability organizations in the community and so much more.

Spiritual care

Spiritual care services are available. During business hours Monday-Friday, a Staff Chaplain is on site. Outside of these hours, a chaplain is available on call and will respond in person as needed.

Business center

Patient families can use a computer station with printing. Scanning and faxing are also available for patient families.

Mail

Outgoing stamped, patient family mail may be dropped off. Mail is picked up twice a day Monday through Friday. Stamps may be purchased at the Gift Shop across from the Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center.

Notary service

The Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center provides patient families with notary public services. These services are available Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Patient relations

Patient representatives provide an advocacy and administrative link for children and families to express comments, suggestions, or concerns involving services provided by Children’s Wisconsin.

Medical records and MyChart

Medical records staff are no longer available onsite. They are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to assist patients and families with medical records.

Financial counseling

Children's Wisconsin is committed to providing medically necessary health care to patients in our geographic service area without regard for their ability to pay. Financial counseling services are available.

Family Partners Program

The Family Partners Program is a group of family members and staff who work together to make Children’s a better place for kids and families. The Program is dedicated to working with families at all levels throughout the Children’s system, inviting participation in committees, programs and services.
