Referrals at Children’s

Children’s accepts referrals from – and offers consultation to – professionals in the field of pediatric rehabilitation medicine by phone.

Residencies and fellowships

We work with the Medical College of Wisconsin to offer fellowships and residencies to medical students, doctors specializing in pediatrics as well as training for fellows who have completed a residency and are training in another specialty.

Ours is a teaching program, with two residents per month working with our pediatric physiatrists. In addition, the Medical College of Wisconsin physical medicine and rehabilitation residents rotate with our doctors in their second and fourth years of residency training.

Annual pediatric rehabilitation courses

Children’s presents an annual pediatric rehabilitation conference. This one-day course features physicians, researchers and other subject experts from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin and other community. These are designed to provide continuing education to local therapists and other health professionals.

Gait lab

Children’s gait lab is an outstanding asset to our treatment program. Children’s is constantly working to improve our understanding of the human body and how it works so we can provide your child and all children the best treatment.

Our state-of-the-art gait lab allows us to study children’s movements to ensure they get the best diagnosis, care and treatment available. It uses sensors to capture the child’s motion, allowing us to understand each patient’s abilities and measure responses to specific exercises and therapies.
