Infectious disease program referrals

Many of the children we treat for infectious diseases are already patients in other departments at Children’s Wisconsin, but we also see children referred by outside providers.

To make sure your child’s condition matches the care we provide in our program, please have your doctor call our office at (414) 337-7070.

HIV Program referrals

We welcome questions, concerns and referrals from hospital and community based medical and social service providers on issues related to HIV infection in children, youths and pregnant women.

Some of the frequently asked questions we receive relate to testing of children after their mother has been diagnosed with HIV, treatment of pregnant women after diagnosis of HIV during labor and delivery, and prophylaxis in children and youth after possible exposures in the community.

To request an appointment or consultation with our HIV program specialists please call the Children's operator at (414) 266-2000 and ask to speak with the HIV Program staff on-call. HIV Program staff is on call 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
