Parenting can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you're caring for a new baby, facing tough times or supporting your child's growth, we're here for you. 

Children’s Wisconsin has many programs and services for parents and caregivers. We offer parenting classes, counseling and community resources. We also work with local agencies and groups to provide these programs across the state.

Programs and Services

Family Resource Centers

Our Family Resource Centers offer parents and caregivers support for the healthy growth and development of their kids. We also help strengthen family bonds.

  • Learn about parenting and how kids grow and develop.
  • Get tips for talking with your child.
  • Find ways to manage stress and take care of yourself.
  • Practice positive discipline that works for your family.
  • Get support if your child has special needs, including respite care and one-on-one guidance.
  • Enjoy fun parent-child activities, such as Play Shoppe and Music Garden.

Parent-Child Activities and Learning

Fun activities and programs that support early learning and build strong family bonds.

  • Play Shoppe: Group play and parenting support for families with young kids.
  • Music Garden: Music and movement classes for kids from birth to age 5.
  • First Books: A monthly story time where preschoolers receive a book to take home and keep.

Home Visiting Programs

Personalized in-home support for expecting parents and families with young kids. 

  • Starts during pregnancy or anytime during early childhood.
  • Learn about pregnancy, parenting, child safety and development.
  • Receive support with setting and reaching family goals and learning life skills.

Parent Classes and Education

Build your parenting skills, reduce stress and strengthen your family bond.

  • Triple P – Positive Parenting Program : Provides practical tools for everyday parenting in the form of online classes, group workshops and one-on-one counseling.
  • Nurturing Parents/Parent Power: Helps build strong family connections and self-care.
  • Educational Achievement Partnership Program : Partners with families, schools, medical providers and community resources. The goal is to support kids with chronic conditions to enhance learning, development and long-term well-being.

Family Counseling

We offer counseling and therapy services to support kids, teens, parents and families. 

Our programs help address:

  • Grief and loss
  • Pregnancy and prenatal concerns
  • General emotional well-being

Project Ujima

Project Ujima offers free support to youth and families affected by or at risk of violence. We offer counseling, case management and violence prevention services.
