Job Summary
The anesthesia tech performs a variety of functions to prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed by the anesthesia team. This includes ventilator checks, intubation assistance, IV prep and assistance with the placement of special pressure lines in our more complex cases.

As a medical technologist at Children’s Wisconsin, you can play a key role in helping kids get the best care. Working in our hospital or clinics’ laboratories, you’ll conduct lab testing and provide timely results to medical teams, so patients get the right treatment, right away.
Job Summary
At Children’s Wisconsin, medical technologists perform a variety of duties, including the following:
- Analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, explaining and reporting test results to provide clinical data that helps physicians diagnose and treat patients
- Performing quality control, calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment, and other activities that support the everyday function of the laboratory
- Assisting in the development of education and training protocols, instructing students, residents and new employees as assigned
- Helping improve quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies and processes, ensuring compliance with all accrediting agency standards
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory or one of the chemical or biological sciences.

Job Summary
At Children’s Wisconsin, neurodiagnostic techs perform a variety of procedures to study the brain and central nervous system in pediatric patients, including EEGs, evoked potentials, electromyography and nerve conduction.
We are currently hiring for these positions:
- Neuro Tech 2: Candidates must have successfully completed a written exam through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists.
- Neuro Tech 3: Candidates must have completed a two-year accredited electroneurodiagnostic program and earned designation as a registered technologist by the Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists in three of the following modalities (EEG, EP, CNIM, CLTM, or NCST). Four years of experience, proficiency in performing complex neurophysiology techniques and CPR certification are also required.

The Wisconsin Poison Center at Children’s Wisconsin is looking for a poison specialist to provide fast, accurate information to residents and health care providers across the state.
Poison specialists triage calls to our 24-hour call line, manage poisoning emergencies, make referrals and provide prevention education. This work directly impacts outcomes, improves public health and expands access by offering a free, confidential source for poison information.

The Wisconsin Poison Center is a trusted resource for poison information and has served residents and health systems across the state for 43 years. Our toxicology-trained nurses and pharmacists are the first line of defense in a poisoning emergency. They are supported by physicians who are board certified in toxicology.
Job Requirements
Candidates for the poison specialist position should have these qualifications:
- Wisconsin licensure as a registered nurse or pharmacist
- Three years of clinical experience in acute care, ambulatory care in a pediatric setting or previous experience in a poison center certified by the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) — preferred
- Once hired, you must follow a path to meet AAPCC prerequisites and successfully complete a poison specialist certification exam within three attempts
Job Summary
Here are a few of the duties of a poison specialist at the Wisconsin Poison Center:
- Triage incoming emergency calls from residents and health care providers in Wisconsin that involve accidental, intentional and occupational toxic exposures
- Assess, evaluate and manage poison issues and emergencies for children and adults
- Provide treatment, education and prevention recommendations regarding human toxic exposures
- Use medically approved guidelines and multiple computer software systems to provide fast, accurate poison information
