Job summary

The family case manager helps bring services and support to children and families as part of protective services case management. In this role, you will direct the child protective services case process using the “family teaming” method of a strength-based, family-centered approach. This includes: 

• Child and family assessment 
• Development and management of services and case plans 
• Use of resources, including supports and services to ensure child safety 
• Evaluation and monitoring of case progress and movement toward case closure

Family case managers are responsible for decision-making and case activity that supports appropriate use of in-home safety plans, out-of-home safety plans and permanency plans.

You’ll also perform adoption case management and finalizations, including negotiating adoption assistance subsidies and completing court work; provide intensive in-home management services on designated cases; and complete all necessary documentation.

Candidates must have bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or other field that meets child-placing license requirements. Social work certification is preferred.
