As the saying goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
An apple can do a world of good for your health. And at Wisconsin Hospitality Group Applebee’s restaurants from July 14 – August 16, during the company’s Apples for Kids campaign, purchasing an apple icon or t-shirt at participating Applebee’s restaurants can improve the collective health of our community.
Our Apples for Kids campaign began in 2000 as a way for our company to give back to an organization that makes a difference in so many of our employees’ and customers’ lives — Children’s Wisconsin. Each apple icon sold represents a $1 or more donation to Children’s Wisconsin. Since the inception of our coordinated efforts, we have raised more than $1.3 million for Children’s Wisconsin!
Our franchise group, Wisconsin Hospitality Group, has recently established a nonprofit foundation, WHG Cares, that will enable our corporation to continue making transformational gifts to organizations like Children’s Wisconsin.
Our donations support the pediatric caregivers at Children’s Wisconsin. But they also provide the special things that make Children’s Wisconsin unique, like a prom for teenage patients who are unable to attend their own, care for the family’s emotional health when a child is fighting cancer and interpretation services in more than 200 languages! Children’s Wisconsin staffs a school room with certified teachers to ensure kids admitted for long hospital stays don’t fall behind in academics.
We’re committed to keeping the communities in which our customers live, work and play thriving. With 36 locations throughout the great state of Wisconsin, we’re committed to a healthy Wisconsin.
Our Applebee’s team members donate their time and resources throughout the year, hosting community events and inviting our customers to join us in raising awareness and funds for Children’s Wisconsin. It’s been inspiring, over the years, to watch as our employees rally around this meaningful cause and identify with the purpose that inspires so many pediatric caregivers to practice in the first place.
Thank you to all employees and customers who give back and help us help kids in our neighborhood.
