Overview

Services

Hello! My name is Natalie Matthews, she/her, and I am a Child and Family Therapist in Training. I have experience working with children and adolescents in therapy who are experiencing life changes, transitions, and interpersonal or family conflict, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and other mental health symptoms. Some of my experiences include school-based therapy groups for students, anti-violence programing, psychoeducation, and individual therapy.

I believe in therapy as a collaborative process between the patient and therapist. I acknowledge the impact of identities and environments on experiences, and I aim to create a space where one can share openly. In therapy, I use an approach that validates hardships and past experiences, while also emphasizing resilience and the client’s ability to create change. Some of the styles and modalities I utilize are Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
