Go Baby Go!
Go Baby Go! is a partnership between Children's Wisconsin and two local universities. Our Milwaukee program partners with the Marquette University's Biomedical Engineering department, and in the Fox Valley, we partner with Fox Valley Technical College. The program is dedicated to helping kids with special needs gain more independent mobility through the use of custom motorized cars.
We know that self-initiated mobility is important for a child's overall development and that very young children are in a critical period for developing brain plasticity and learning. That's why the Physical and Occupational Therapy Team at Children's has partnered with two local universities: the Biomedical Engineering department at Marquette University and Fox Valley Technical College to create the Go Baby Go! program.
Together, the goal to provide a safe option for children with special needs to gain independence can be realized. We want to see the children of Wisconsin with special needs improve their ability to interact with their peers and the world around them. Through the use of miniature motorized cars they can foster confidence, facilitate holistic development and reduce their dependence on caregivers.
We are just one branch of many spread throughout the world. Go Baby Go! was started by Dr. Cole Galloway at the University of Delaware around 2010. Dr. Galloway and his teammates are passionate about growing the program and safely getting as many children as possible into self-initiated, motorized cars.

What is the typical age-range of the children to whom you provide a car?
9 months to 5 years. This is also weight-dependent, though, as we need to ensure the car will safely hold the child and any necessary equipment.
How much does a family need to pay to receive a car for their child?
Nothing! We are extremely grateful to our generous benefactors who make it possible for children to receive a car at no cost to the family.
Do you accept donations?
Yes, we do. Thank you for asking! Learn how to donate.
Are donations/gifts tax deductible?
Yes. The donor will receive an acknowledgement of their gift when submitting online.
What if I need a bigger car?
If your child has outgrown their current car and is still within the age and weight limitations, we will likely be able to make a new car to meet your needs. For the Milwaukee program, please fill out a new application or email us. For the Fox Valley program, please fill out a new application or send us an email.
How can I contact Go Baby Go!?
Our team would love to talk with you. Please feel free to email us at gobabygomilwaukee@childrenswi.org or gobabygofoxvalley@childrenswi.org.
I don't live near Milwaukee or the Fox Valley. How can I get a car?
Depending on where you live, there may be a Go Baby Go! chapter much closer to you. If not, you will need to make two trips to either Milwaukee or the Fox Valley for your child’s fitting and for the pick-up of the car. Please email us at gobabygomilwaukee@childrenswi.org or gobabygofoxvalley@childrenswi.org, and we can try to help you navigate the situation and we will do our best to be flexible to your needs.
How do we return our Go Baby Go! car so another child can benefit from it?
We are not able to recycle cars for new children at this time. Please reach out to your local pediatric therapy clinic, school districts, county Birth to Three providers, or support groups to donate the car.
