COVID-19 has been immensely challenging for families and we may be facing the most challenging aspect yet — how to decide whether or not to send children back to school. To help address questions on the topic, a group of pediatric providers and leaders from Children's Wisconsin held a live conversation online.
Throughout the event, they answered questions about screening, testing, masking, mental and behavioral health and even tips for helping kids adjust. They spoke to the considerations for kids and their families at home, kids with complex medical needs, as well as teachers and school faculty. They walked through scenarios around what it would look like to be back in school and even discussed the hard question of whether or not they’ll be sending their own kids back to school.
