Last week, our community came together to celebrate our own Memorial Day tradition — the Dave & Carole Miracle Marathon on 96.5 WKLH. Our lobby buzzed with activity as Dave Luczak and Carole Caine broadcasted live from our hospital. They have been instrumental in making Miracle Marathon one of the most successful radiothons in the nation, and words cannot describe our gratitude to them and the entire WKLH team.
In just 36 hours, this year’s event raised $1.42 million, which is truly amazing. This was the 17th year we’ve had the privilege to hold the radiothon with 96.5 WKLH. Since its inception, Miracle Marathon has raised more than $20 million for Children’s Wisconsin.
Each year, I am astounded by the generosity of Dave and Carole’s loyal listeners — and our entire community. I want to thank everyone who volunteered their time or donated money to help ensure that the kids in our community have access to the best care. I also want to thank WKLH, our wonderful corporate and in-kind sponsors and our own hospital staff, who worked many hours to support this radiothon. And, of course, this event wouldn’t happen without the families who shared their very personal stories of hope and healing.
